The Chamber For a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro and the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce congratulate Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for their outstanding performance in the biomedical arena in the recent U.S. News & World Report 2022 Best Graduate Schools.
The Research Triangle Region is the center for healthcare and research in the South. Duke University (Duke) in Durham County and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-Chapel Hill) in Orange County topped the national charts in several graduate categories that contribute to this critical cluster of industries.
The Research Triangle Region now has the #1 ranked pharmacy school (UNC-CH); #2 ranked public health school (UNC-CH); and #3 ranked research medical school (Duke), primary care medical school (UNC-CH), nursing school (Duke), biomedical engineering program (Duke), family medicine program (UNC-CH), and health care management program (UNC-CH).
The last year has revealed the importance of high-quality medical care and ongoing need for cutting-edge biomedical research. Together, our universities, their research divisions (UNC Research and Duke Research), and health care systems (UNC Health and Duke Health) are partnering with the business community, investing billions of dollars, and engaging thousands of top scientists, faculty, staff, and students to treat diseases, discover new technologies, and deliver unprecedented solutions.
On behalf of the business community, we applaud Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill for their remarkable achievements and prestigious recognition. We appreciate their dedication to training top talent in the biomedical arena and making the Research Triangle Region one of the strongest and most competitive in the nation for healthcare and research.
