Carrboro, NC: The Carrboro Business Alliance (CBA) is delighted to welcome Richard J. White III as the new Carrboro Town Manager and congratulates the Carrboro Town Council on an excellent choice.
“The Carrboro Business Alliance would like to extend our warmest ‘welcome back’ to Mr. Richard White,” said Rae Mosher, Owner/Operator, Carrburritos Tacqueria. “The local business community is excited to have Mr. White as the chief administrator of our town and looks forward to collaborating to help Carrboro thrive.”
Twenty years ago, Mr. White served as the assistant to the Carrboro Town Manager. His stellar career path included serving as the Elon Town Manager as well as other executive management positions with the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County, GA and most recently, the City of Asheville. On Monday, Mr. White issued a welcome message to the community, which acknowledged many local businesses that help make Carrboro the dynamic place that it is, including Open Eye Café and Cat’s Cradle. He also acknowledged the prolonged Covid challenges and his commitment to collaboration as we move forward, and shared his vision for the future. The CBA is confident Mr. White’s past leadership and management experiences will serve Carrboro well in 2021 and beyond. His insights gained from other communities will help inform strategies and tactics here that can bolster our local business community and reinforce the basic building blocks of commerce while guiding intelligent growth for our downtown. The CBA extends a hearty appreciation to former Town Manager, David Andrews, who provided thoughtful, steady leadership, executed a smooth transition, and is now hopefully enjoying a well-deserved retirement. The CBA also acknowledges the excellent work of the Carrboro Town Council for recruiting and carefully considering several strong candidates, completing a flawless hiring process, and securing Mr. White as Manager for our beloved town.
